| Uncontrolled Keywords: | Sudanco Supriadi Street in Malang City is a blacklink, meaning it has a high and recurring accident rate each year. According to accident data from the Malang City Police over the past five years (2020–2024), 83 accidents have been recorded, resulting in 14 fatalities, making this section one of the most accident-prone areas in Malang City. The high number of accidents is influenced by various factors, including substandard road geometry, inadequate road facilities such as faded road markings, obstructed signs, minimal lighting, and less vigilant road users. The presence of public facilities such as universities, hospitals, and shopping areas along this road also triggers high vehicle and pedestrian traffic, increasing the risk of accidents. Based on these conditions, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying potential hazards on the Sudanco Supriadi Road section, assessing the risk level of each identified hazard, and formulating appropriate risk control strategies to improve traffic safety at the research location. The method used in this study is HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control), which is a systematic method for identifying hazard sources, assessing risk levels based on severity and likelihood of occurrence, and compiling risk control measures based on the assessment results. This approach revealed several hazards that ranged from moderately dangerous to hazardous and required immediate action. Therefore, recommendations for improvement focused on enhancing road safety facilities, such as adding and improving traffic signs, road markings, zebra crossings, and xix pedestrian protection facilities. By implementing measures based on the results of this risk assessment, it is hoped that the potential for traffic accidents can be minimized and the safety of road users on Jalan Sudanco Supriadi can be significantly improved.
