Abstract
The Central Business District (CBD) area, which serves as the economic hub, generates congestion on the roads leading to it. This is supported by the residents of Pekanbaru who prefer using private vehicles over the public transportation provided by the Pekanbaru City Government, namely Trans Metro Pekanbaru.
This study examines the transportation preferences of the residents between motorcycles and Trans Metro Pekanbaru on the 4A STC Ramayana-Pasar Tangor route to the CBD area. The method used in this study is the Logit Biner Selisih, which allows us to determine the impact of the price difference on the change in the probability of mode choice in Pekanbaru. The characteristics of the transportation preferences of Pekanbaru residents are influenced by vehicle ownership, transportation costs, and travel time. The results of the logit biner selisih indicate that the fare of Trans Metro Pekanbaru needs to be reduced by Rp14,000 from that of motorcycles to achieve a balanced mode choice probability.

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Logit Biner Selisih sehingga dapat diketahui pengaruh selisih harga terhadap perubahan probabilitas pemilihan moda di Kota Pekanbaru. Adapun karakteristik prefrensi moda masyarakat Pekanbaru dipegaruhi oleh kepemilikan kendaraan, biaya transportasi, dan waktu tempuh. Hasil dari logit biner selisih menunjukan, biaya Trans Metro Pekanbaru perlu lebih murah Rp14.000,00 dari sepeda motor untuk menghasilkan probabilitas pemilihan moda yang seimbang.
