UPAYA PENINGKATAN KESELAMATAN JALAN PADA LOKASI RAWAN KECELAKAAN (STUDI KASUS : RUAS JALAN GARUDA SAKTI KOTA PEKANBARU)

Garuda Sakti Road Section is one of the roads in Pekanbaru City with primary arterial road function, city road status and becomes an access road to the CBD because it is directly adjacent to the CBD and becomes a connecting road between Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency, so it has a high volume of vehicles and the spot results show that it has a high vehicle speed as well. According to the analysis conducted by the 2024 Pekanbaru City PKL Team, this road is prone to accident and is included as an accident-prone area for 3 consecutive years (2021-2023) according to the Pekanbaru City Police, where the highest number of accidents is at the accident-prone point along 1 km from in front of Panam Digital Printing to in front of Central Panam Elektronik which reached 10 incidents in the last 5 years of accidents with land use is shops and there is a school safety zone. The analysis of the currnt conditions of the Garuda Sakti road section revealed that the pavement was in a potholed and cracked, and the road markings are faded or even had non-existent. So, the purpose of this research is to provide appropriate recommendations based on the analysis of the safety aspects of the road with planning in the form of repairs and installation of road equipment facilities in order to create increased safety on this road section and can reduce the risk of road accidents.
