Abstract

Simpang tidak bersinyal memiliki potensi tinggi terhadap terjadinya konflik
lalu lintas yang dapat memicu kecelakaan, khususnya pada kawasan padat aktivitas
seperti di Kota Mojokerto. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat
keselamatan lalu lintas pada Simpang Gajah Mada – Taman Siswa menggunakan
metode Traffic Conflict Technique (TCT). Metode ini mengidentifikasi potensi
kecelakaan berdasarkan interaksi antar kendaraan yang hampir menyebabkan
tabrakan (near-miss), melalui parameter Time to Accident (TA) dan Conflict Speed
(CS). Survei dilakukan dengan observasi lapangan dan pengambilan data konflik lalu
lintas, serta kecepatan kendaraan pada titik pendekat simpang. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa konflik serius paling banyak terjadi pada arah pendekat barat
dan selatan, didorong oleh tingginya kecepatan kendaraan serta minimnya
perlengkapan jalan. Rekomendasi penanganan meliputi pemasangan rambu lalu
lintas, marka kotak kuning (yellow box), cermin tikungan, serta pengendalian
kecepatan. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar pengambilan
kebijakan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan lalu lintas pada simpang tidak bersinyal.

Uncontrolled Keywords: Unsignalized intersections have a high potential for traffic conflicts that may lead to accidents, especially in densely populated areas such as Mojokerto City. This study aims to analyze the traffic safety level at the Gajah Mada – Taman Siswa intersection using the Traffic Conflict Technique (TCT). This method identifies potential accidents based on near-miss interactions between vehicles, using parameters such as Time to Accident (TA) and Conflict Speed (CS). The research was conducted through field observations and data collection on traffic conflicts and vehicle speeds at each approach of the intersection. The results show that the highest number of serious conflicts occurred on the west and south approaches, driven by high vehicle speeds and the lack of adequate road equipment. Recommended measures include the installation of traffic signs, yellow box markings, convex mirrors, and speed control. It is expected that the findings of this study can serve as a reference for policy-making to improve traffic safety at unsignalized intersections.
