Abstract

Simpang 4 Gatot Subroto merupakan salah satu simpang tidak bersinyal
di Kota malang dengan arus lalu lintas yang padat. Permasalahan utama pada
simpang ini terjadi dikarenakan tingginya arus belok kanan pada pendekat barat
yang mencapai 478 smp/jam pada jam puncak hari kerja, yang menimbulkan
konflik lalu lintas dan berdampak pada panjang antrean pada lengan selatan
mencapai kurang lebih 500 m berdasarkan hasil pengamatan. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk merancang desain rekayasa yang sesuai guna mengurangi konflik,
memperpendek antrean, dan menurunkan tundaan demi meningkatkan kinerja
simpang. Metode yang digunakan mencakup perhitungan siklus optimal
berdasarkan PKJI 2023 dan simulasi kinerja menggunakan perangkat lunak
Vissim dengan indikator panjang antrean dan tundaan, serta validasi melalui uji
GEH. Rekomendasi penerapan simpang Apill dengan 2 fase, serta pembagian
waktu menjadi 7 plan berdasarkan periode waktu sibuk dan tidak sibuk dalam satu
hari terbukti efektif untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan waktu siklus, dengan
contoh berkurangnya panjang antrean dan tundaan khususnya pada lengan selatan,
yang semula 458 m dengan tundaan 74 detik menjadi 110 m dengan tundaan 10
detik, pada jam sibuk sore saat hari kerja. Selain itu, dilakukan pula penambahan
kanalisasi untuk memisahkan arus belok kiri pada lengan barat dengan
memanfaatkan tiang penyangga perlintasan tidak sebidang sebagai pulau jalan,
sehingga arus dapat dipisahkan secara tertib. Perancangan ini juga didukung
dengan rekomendasi penambahan perlengkapan jalan seperti rambu dan marka
untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja dari perencanaan.

Uncontrolled Keywords: The Gatot Subroto Four-Leg Intersection is one of the unsignalized intersections in Malang City with heavy traffic flow. The main problem at this intersection occurs due to the high volume of right-turning vehicles on the west approach, which reaches 478 pcu/hour during weekday peak hours. This condition creates traffic conflicts and causes long queues on the south approach, reaching approximately 500 meters based on observation results.This study aims to design a suitable traffic engineering solution to reduce conflicts, shorten queues, and decrease delays in order to improve the performance of the intersection. The methods used include calculating the optimal cycle time based on PKJI 2023 and simulating performance using Vissim software with queue length and delay as performance indicators, as well as validation using the GEH test.The recommendation of implementing a 2- phase signalized intersection and dividing the signal timing into 7 plans based on busy and non-busy periods in a day has proven to be effective in optimizing the use of cycle time. For example, the queue length and delay on the south approach during weekday evening peak hours were reduced from 458 meters with a delay of 74 seconds to 110 meters with a delay of 10 seconds.In addition, channelization was implemented to separate the left-turning traffic on the west approach by utilizing the support pole of the grade-separated crossing as a traffic island, so that the flow can be separated in an orderly manner. This design is also supported by recommendations for adding road equipment such as signs and markings to optimize the performance of the planned improvements.
