Abstract

The production of buses involves a finishing division located at the end of
the production process. Due to its placement at the final stage of production, this
division has a lengthy work process and a substantial workload. It also has a
considerable workload target, leading employees to work beyond regular working
hours (overtime), causing an irregular workflow and uneven distribution of
workload.
This study aims to achieve an effective work process through workload
balancing, thereby enhancing the productivity of PT Laksana Bus Manufacturing.
The line balancing method is employed to address issues within the finishing
division. The implementation of the line balancing concept using the Ranked
Positional Weight (RPW) method reduces the number of workstations from 8 to 5,
increases line efficiency from 28.67% to 45.77%, decreases balance delay from
71.33% to 54.23%, reduces the smoothness index from 2,730 minutes to 1,849
minutes, and decreases the total idle time from an initial 15,914 minutes to 3,498
minutes.

Karena berada pada bagian akhir proses produksi, divisi ini memiliki proses kerja yang panjang dan beban kerja yang besar. Divisi ini juga memiliki target kerja yang cukup banyak, sehingga pekerja mengerjakan tugasnya diluar jam kerja (lembur), proses kerja tidak teratur, dan memperoleh beban kerja yang tidak merata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penyeimbangan lintasan agar tercapainya proses kerja yang efektif sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas PT Laksana Bus Manufaktur. Metode line balancing digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan pada divisi finishing. Penerapan konsep line balancing dengan metode Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) mengurangi stasiun kerja dari 8 menjadi 5, mmeningkatkan line efficiency dari 28,67% menjadi 45,77%, mengurangi balance delay dari 71,33% menjadi 54,23%, smoothness index dari 2.730 menit menjadi 1.849 menit, dan total idle time yang awalnya 15.914 menit berkurang menjadi 3.498 menit.
