Abstract

Science and technology are basic needs in every field of life, one of which
is logistics which is included in the economic field. Warehousing activities in
logistics require the utilization of science and technology to assist the operation of
the warehousing management system, one of the warehousing management with
the concept of Temporary Storage (TPS) can be found at the cargo terminal of
Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang International Airport. Based on the author's
observations, almost all operations at TPS have implemented technology, but the
build-up and breakdown process of cargo and postal checklists still use a manual
system. The manual system has an impact on the company's operations such as
waste of paper and complicated data storage procedures (archives) and the potential
to lose data. Therefore, the author designed a system with the aim of providing
solutions to the use of excess paper (paperless) and facilitate the storage and search
of data.
The data collection technique used in this research is field observation. The
research uses a research and development (R&D) approach with a system design
method, namely waterfall, which consists of five stages. This data input system is
designed using Excel VBA macros with the help of features such as useforms and
tools. The resulting data input system can help shorten the workflow by doing a
checklist while saving (archiving) data and making it easier to find data if data is
needed at any time.

Kegiatan pergudangan di logistik memerlukan pemanfaatan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi untuk membantu operasional sistem manajemen pergudangan, salah satu manajemen pergudangan dengan konsep Tempat Penimbunan Sementara (TPS) dapat dijumpai pada terminal kargo Bandara Internasional Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang. Berdasarkan observasi penulis, hampir seluruh operasional di TPS sudah menerapkan teknologi, namun pada proses build-up dan breakdown checklist kargo dan pos masih menggunakan sistem manual. Sistem manual tersebut menimbulkan dampak yang berpengaruh terhadap operasional perusahaan seperti pemborosan kertas dan prosedur penyimpanan data (arsip) yang rumit serta berpotensi menghilangkan data. Oleh karena itu, penulis merancang sebuah sistem dengan tujuan memberikan solusi terhadap penggunaan kertas berlebih (paperless) dan memudahkan dalam penyimpanan dan pencarian data. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah observasi lapangan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan research and development (R&D) dengan metode perancangan sistem yaitu waterfall yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan. Sistem input data ini dirancang menggunakan macro VBA Excel dengan bantuan fitur seperti useform dan tools. Sistem input data yang dihasilkan dapat membantu mempersingkat alur kerja yaitu dengan melakukan checklist sekaligus menyimpan (arsip) data dan mempermudah dalam pencarian data apabila sewaktu-waktu data diperlukan.
