SISTEM INFORMASI BERBASIS SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE (SMS) GATEWAY SEBAGAI PENGINGAT MASA BERLAKU UJI BERKALA DI PENGUJIAN KENDARAAN BERMOTOR DINAS PERHUBUNGAN KOTA SEMARANG

SMS gateway is a liaison or bridge between applications or systems with
cellular phones. The Semarang City UPPKB was designed SMS gateway as a
reminder of the validity period of periodic motor vehicle tests to address the
problem of owners of Obligatory Test Motorized Vehicles (KBWU) who do not/are
late in carrying out periodic tests due to forgetfulness.
This research was conducted to find out how effective and efficient the use
of information systems is SMS gateway as a reminder of the validity period of the
periodic
test
at
UPPKB Semarang City. This study used a
questionnaire/questionnaire data collection technique with KBWU owners as
respondents.
This study uses the action research level 2 data analysis method, this
research method is by finding problems and potential because researchers are work
actors, researchers reflect on what are the problems and potentials. Based on the
reflection of the problem and potential, the researcher has an action plan to fix it.
Furthermore, the action plan is proven or not proven to consistently increase the
expected results.
From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the application
SMS gateway as a reminder of the validity period of the periodic test, it received a
very good response from KBWU owners by being able to provide solutions to the
problems that existed in the Semarang City Transportation Service's Motorized
Vehicle Testing.
