Analisis Efektifitas Pembebasan Biaya Retribusi Pengujian Kendaraan Bermotor Terhadap Tingkat Partisipasi Masyarakat di UPT Pengelola Prasarana Teknis Perhubungan Kota Tangerang

The retribution fee for vehicle testing is a significant contributor to the Local Government Revenue. The current government policy to exempt this fee will impact the level of community participation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the exemption of the retribution fee for vehicle testing on the level of community participation at the UPT Pengelola Prasarana Teknis Perhubungan Kota Tangerang. The Indonesian government is striving to provide the best services to its citizens. Public services must meet the standards of good governance to achieve optimal service delivery. The revenue of Kota Tangerang has increased from 2020 to 2023, with the retribution fee for vehicle testing as one of its contributors.
This study uses a survey and data analysis method to collect data from the community that has conducted vehicle testing before and after the exemption of the retribution fee. The results show that the level of community participation before the exemption of the retribution fee was 35%, while after the exemption it increased to 55%. The exemption of the retribution fee can increase community participation in conducting vehicle testing.
