Abstract
The inspection of the power transmission system in vehicles is one of the mandatory items checked during technical requirement inspections. However, the clearance inspection on the propeller shaft is often not conducted, and the use of measuring tape to measure the radial clearance on the propeller shaft, with the vehicle tester positioned in the test lane and taking measurements from below, creates a high possibility of observational errors, making the measurement results unreliable. This study was conducted to examine the application of a digital inclinometer in measuring the radial clearance angle on the propeller shaft. The method used in this study is a comparative method that compares the results of radial clearance inspection on the propeller shaft using standard methods and the application of a digital inclinometer. The study results showed that the measurement error rate of 2% decreased by 33% compared to using measuring tape, and the average measurement time of 4.47 seconds decreased by 7.93 seconds from the measurement time using measuring tape.

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode komparatif yang membandingkan hasil pemeriksaan jarak bebas radial pada propeller shaft dengan metode standar dan penerapan digital inclinometer. Hasil penelitian yaitu tingkat kesalahan pengukuran sebesar 2% turun 33% dibandingkan dengan menggunakan pita meter dan rata-rata waktu pengukuran selama detik 4,47 detik turun 7,93 detik dari waktu pengukuran menggunakan pita meter.
