Abstract

An application for vehicle reader recognition based on Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology on Android devices was developing to improve the efficiency of vehicle identity inspections at the Periodic Motor Vehicle Testing Unit in Bogor City. This application use an IP cam as a tool for minimize the risk during the process of scraping vehicle identities.
The system is designing use Unified Modeling Language (UML) with various features such as vehicle identity scanning, vehicle data input, vehicle identity scan history, and a vehicle database. The functional test is conducting through black box testing method to ensure that all of the components function correctly.
After testing the application, a usability test was conducting by distributing a questionnaire using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method with the result in score of 85 in the "Excellent" category. The SUS testing concluded that the application is effective because it can assist the inspectors in the vehicle identity inspection process and proper to use.

Setelah melakukan uji coba aplikasi dilakukan uji usabilitas dengan menyebarkan kuesioner menggunakan metode System Usability Scale (SUS) dan mendapatkan nilai 85 dengan kategori “Excellent”. Dari pengujian SUS menyimpulkan bahwa aplikasi dapat dinyatakan efektivitas karena dapat membantu penguji dalam proses pemeriksaan identitas kendaraan dan layak untuk digunakan.
